Pregnancy Update

This is what you get when you are on maternity leave but you can't sleep and get up at 5am.
You are finished with breakfast and your daily chores at 9am and you have the rest of the day ahead of you
for whatever you want to do... :)

Today I'm 34 weeks pregnant and as you can tell, sleep is scarce. :)
Heartburn, several nightly visits to the toilet, finding a comfortable sleeping position with the "ever-expanding" belly (I measured today - girth of my belly - 102cm!) and the kicking (which feels more like tossing and turning) of our baby-boy is keeping me from my much needed beauty sleep.
Well, at least it's a good training for the first time/nights with our little peanut. :)

As for the name for our new family member...we have finally settled for Alexander.
We always knew that we wanted a traditional name but the final decision wasn't easy.
The BF wasn't so sure of the name at first but I think he got used to it and is now happy with "our" *wink* choice. :)

The first weeks of my maternity leave weren't easy for me. I really missed work, somehow I felt lost.
I don't know how else to describe it. But I've finally gained enough distance from work and I'm really enjoying my time at home now.
I'm busy to run the last errands for Alexander and I still have no clue how to decorate the nursery.
It won't be anything fancy. It just needs a little color, although I've already decided that I don't want to paint the walls...too much work...maybe I'll find some cute wall stickers. We'll see...

To keep me at least a little bit fit, I go for a swim twice a week.
It also helps with the edema (water) in my feet. With the hot weather here these last couple of days, my feet swell to the size of elephant feet. But the cold water and the exercise really do wonders.
I go to prenatal classes at the hospital, meet up with family and friends and I do a lot of reading.
I'm finally able to catch up on my 2011 Reading Challenge and minimize my TBR pile. Only 77 more books to read! :)

You see, overall, I'm super lazy. :)
But that's what the 8 weeks before the due date are here for, right?!
To do something for yourself and to prepare for the new family addition.

I somehow still can't believe it. In a few weeks I'm going to be a mom!
Although I feel the movement in my belly, it's still hard to realizie that we'll soon hold a baby
...our little baby-boy!...
in our arms.

I'm counting the days! Can't wait!
